University of Texas Pan American Coastal Studies Lab, located in Isla Blanca Park at the south end of the Island,     956-761-2644

The U.T.P.A. Coastal Studies Lab,, has aquarium displays of fish and other marine life indigenous to the area, as well as an extensive shell collection. The lab is open Sunday-Friday, 1:30-4:30 p.m.
